Being a photographer is about so much more than taking photos. It is about witnessing connection, emotion, and the quiet moments that happen between two people who choose each other. Photographing couples allows me to document love in its most honest form and preserve memories that will one day be cherished by future generations.
A couple photoshoot in Switzerland is not just about beautiful locations. It is about creating images that feel natural, relaxed, and true to who you are together.
Getting Engaged in Switzerland
A few months ago, I had the pleasure of meeting Irena and Vincent, who travelled all the way from California to celebrate their engagement in Switzerland. When they reached out about planning an engagement photoshoot here, I was instantly excited.
Switzerland offers an incredible mix of lakes, mountains, castles, and timeless landscapes. For their session, we wanted a soft, romantic atmosphere combined with one of the country’s most iconic settings. We chose Oberhofen Castle and planned the shoot during golden hour to capture that dreamy evening light.
Engagement Photoshoot at Oberhofen Castle
Oberhofen Castle dates back to the 13th century and sits directly on the shores of Lake Thun. It offers spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and the Bernese Alps. The English-style gardens create a peaceful and elegant setting, making it a perfect location for romantic couple and engagement photoshoots in Switzerland.
We spent the evening walking through the castle grounds, enjoying the warm sunset and the calm atmosphere of the lake. The result was a collection of images that felt intimate, timeless, and full of emotion.
Styling Details
Irena wore a chevron-print fit-and-flare dress by Stylish Idealist Dress, paired with a matching orange watch by Michael Kors and nude high-heeled sandals by Shoe Box Daisy. Her natural makeup complemented the soft, romantic feel of the session beautifully.
Vincent chose a classic shirt with black trousers, a timeless look that felt elegant yet relaxed. Together, their styling reflected exactly what I love about couple photography: effortless, personal, and authentic.
